A bit of RL and a ficlet
1 December 2019 09:59 amWell. I’m on a medical accommodation at work for the foreseeable future - 4 days per week (with my day off in the middle of the week i.e. Wednesday). I was really reluctant to give in to that, especially since it means I’m losing a significant chunk of income per month (my new budget will work out, but it’s so strict; there are things I’ll have to give up), but now that I’ve been doing it for two weeks… the difference is remarkable. I’m starting to feel, well, actually good, and for this time of year that’s nearly unheard of.
For the past four years, I’ve spent most of November hospitalised - and this year, not only am I not admitted, but I’m even still working.
I’m still fretting about finances, of course - the issue is not the budget, which is hard but manageable. The issue is that I was off for three weeks and am therefore behind on the bills, and I no longer have the financial flexibility to catch up. Not sure what I’m going to do about that, because rent is looming and… IDK. But it’ll smooth out, maybe, somehow. My parents are no longer willing to help me (because they don’t ‘believe in’ certain types of chronic illnesses and/or disabilities) so I’m on my own.
But, like I said. The new schedule is working. I’m able to work my full days and 4-day weeks without collapsing or going into an anxiety spiral or anything else that usually sends me home. It’s a good thing. I’m going to cling to that.
In nicer news, though, I'm super-excited because I'm going to be able to meet a very close online friend (something that happens so rarely) in March. We met in fandom in 2001 - almost 20 years ago! - so this is ridiculously awesome.
And on a writing note, I finished a thing! It's just a little thing, but still - Your Heart, Still Beating, Sigrun/Tuuri, an addition to my One For the Books SSSS ficlet collection. I don't hate it, which is probably remarkable.

Date: 7 December 2019 12:27 pm (UTC)I'm trying to make Wednesday my 'creative day' - I still need to rest, but I'd love to spend a good chunk of the day reading or writing or sewing or taking photos or doing other things that make my brain happy.
